Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement for the City of Conover is operated by the Code Enforcement Officer of the Conover Police Department. The Code Enforcement Officer duties are to aid the city in preserving an orderly, safe, and healthy community. The code enforcement officer responds to reports of issues that may diminish the city's appearance and health and/or hurt property values. The code enforcement officer will also be surveying the city for issues that may be unreported but are still in violation of our city ordinance and zoning codes.

The primary issues the code enforcement officer will be dealing with include:

  1. Nuisances (ex. Overgrowth, Outside Storage, Stagnant water, etc)
  2. Abandoned, Nuisance or Junk Motor Vehicles
  3. Minimum Housing Standards
  4. Abandon Structures (residential homes and buildings)
  5. Non-Residential Structures
  6. Zoning Violations (Signs, Fences, Storage Buildings, Unlicensed Business Operation)

The duties of the code enforcement officer are to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the community so that the city's growth may stay positive for its current and future residents and businesses.
