Overview
The Conover Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board, which hears cases arising from a challenge in meeting the requirements of the Zoning Ordinance due to a hardship particular to the land or parcel. The Board of Adjustment also hears appeals to decisions of administrative officials for ordinances that regulate land use and development.
In addition, the board considers zoning interpretations where the Zoning Ordinance does not specifically address a particular issue and reviews appeals in response to a Notice of Violation.
The Conover Planning Board members also serve as members of the Conover Board of Adjustment coinciding with their three-year staggered terms. The meetings are scheduled on an "as needed" basis, and share the agenda date with the Conover Planning Board.
